Woodland Park UMC has a long-standing commitment to providing housing and has hosted several shelters starting nearly 30 years ago. In response to the calling by our faith to put our energies and our passions into serving the community we have partnered with a developer to use our resources to develop Affordable Housing on the church site. In December 2024 we were very fortunate to have been awarded highly competitive affordable housing funding by Seattle Office of Housing. Our current building will be removed late 2026. In its place, a new building will be created with space for 92 new affordable rental units with apartments for those making 30%-60% of median area income. We will maintain a small portion of the new building as a location for our church activities and our interaction with the community. We anticipate completion of the project late 2028.
